Focusing on ways to fancy up basic veg this month, last week we highlighted a simple easy way to fancy up your brocolli, this week we show you how to make cabbage taste amazing!
This is a great way to add veg to a dish of dumplings or as a side to fried rice.
¼ cup olive oil
2 teaspoons mustard seeds – yellow or brown is fine
4 thinly sliced cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon of turmeric
½ teaspoon of ground ginger
6 cups of thinly sliced cabbage – green works best for this recipe
½ teapsoon salt
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- In a large wok or pan, heat the oil over a med -high heat. Add the mustard seeds to the oil and stir.
- Once the seeds are heated, add the garlic, turmeric, and ginger and saute for approx. 30 seconds.
- Add the cabbage and salt, and stir until coated. Cover the pan and cook until the cabbage is getting tender (15-20 mins)
- Add the lemon juice and serve hot with air fried mashed vegetable balls and Culleys Teriyaki Mayo.
